Professional, Prompt Service
Midwest Cyclery maintains a professional Service Department at the rear of our store. We provide prompt service on all makes of bicycles. We also service most makes of tricycles and wagons. You'll never hear us say "we'll have that done in two weeks", as most of our repairs are ready in 24 to 48 hours.

Come on in for a specially priced winter tuneup. Through February 2012, say "Let the good times roll" when you leave your bike, and you will receive 15% off the regular price of a tuneup!
BASIC Repair Class (scroll down for info on ADVANCED class)
Our Basic class covers:
The repair of a flat tire on a bicycle
What to do if the chain falls off
What to do if you break a spoke
What to check before each ride
Minor maintenance for upkeep of you bicycle

Tools and accessories you may want on your ride
This class will be offered 3 times during the off season months, and each session lasts about one hour. You will need to bring your own bike so that you learn on your own bicycle. Dates are as follows:

The fee for this class is $40.00 per class per person. Registration must be done in person by contacting Doug at the store. The number of participants in each class will be limited so we can offer the best opportunity for real hands on experience.
ADVANCED Repair Class (scroll up for info on BASIC class)
Our Advanced class will include the following:
Replacement of gear and brake cables on a bicycle

What to do if brakes rub rim
What to do if gears are not smooth or the chain falls off

Learn how derailleurs and brakes work, how they adjust and where to lube
Minor Maintenance for upkeep of your bicycle
Tools and accessories you may want to have along on a ride
This class is offered 2 times during the off season months, 1 1/2 hrs each class. You will need to bring your own bike so that you learn using your own bike. Dates are as follows:

Tuesday, January 31
The fee for the Advanced class is $80.00 per class per person. Registration must be done by contacting Doug in person at the store. These classes are limited to allow everyone worthwhile hands on experience.

Bike Rentals at Midwest Cyclery
We offer ADULT Bicycles, Trail-A-Bike, and Child Trailers for rent. The rates per item are: $22.00 for half-day (4 hours or less), $34.00 a day, and $120.00 a week. Helmets are available for rental as well, $5 per rental.
Due to our proximity to the Illinois Prairie Path, all bikes in our rental fleet are recreational bikes - hybrids and comfort bikes.
We require a valid Drivers License and Credit Card at time of rental.
